Welcome to Salt Christian College

The Salt Christian College (SCC) Dimapur is a secular degree college. Dr. M Panger Longchar, a Philanthropist, Educationist almost single-handedly established this seat of higher education on 5th of May, 1991. He also got the affiliation to the Northeastern Hill University and examination center status for the college within the same year. As such, it stands out as one of the oldest and premier private institutions for higher education in Dimapur as well as in the state of Nagaland. It is permanently affiliated to the Nagaland University, Lumami. The founders started the college with the sole aim of imparting quality education to the youths from different parts of the state at a time when higher education infrastructure in Nagaland was not properly developed. At present, Salt Christian College has been running Higher Secondary course in Arts and Undergraduate. Both Pass & Honors) courses. Next to SCC, Dimapur is located its sister institution named Salt Christian College of Teacher Education which is being run by the same management. As for the immediate future, the governing body of the Salt Christian College has a vision to start Science stream (B.Sc. Pass & Honors courses).

Our Motto

The Motto of the College has been taken from the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 5:13-16 of the Bible- “YE ARE THE SALT OF THE EARTH”.

Salt is the most essential ingredient in our food. Again, our foods are essential for life and growth. So, clearly, the college has unpronounced promise to add salt to the lives of its pupils so that they transform themselves into worthy citizens of tomorrow.

Location

The Salt Christian College is located at East Police Colony, Dimapur. Its location, being at the center of the city, is congenial for pupils from every corner of Dimapur and also from other parts of the state in every respect. It can be easily reached by any means of transport within no time.
